PML-N announces sixth historical budget

KARACHI: After an outcry in the National Assembly and a withdrawal of the opposition, Dr. Ismail Miftah, the Minister of Finance of Pakistan, approved the budget for the year 2018-19.

The speech was preceded by an agitation with opposition leader Syed Khursheed Shah, who criticized the government for announcing the budget as its term ends next month.

Ismail, previously Chairman of the Investment Committee, before being appointed Advisor to the Minister of Finance in December 2017, today became the country's Minister of Finance.
The process was designed to overcome the obstacle to publicizing the federal budget in the National Assembly.

The announcement means that the Muslim League of Pakistan-Nawaz (PML-N) is the country's first political party to announce six budgets in its mandate.

The trend occurs even when the opposition has expressed its concern over the government's decision to announce a budget budget for the entire year. Her term ends in May and the next financial year begins on 1 July.

Opposition political parties described the move as "illegal and unconstitutional", but the government remained firmly convinced that budgetary operations should be announced throughout the year.

"The distribution of the expenditure takes place over a period of 12 months." You can not announce a budget for three or four months, "Ismail said during the presentation of the Pakistan Economic Survey 2017-18 on Thursday.
